Welcome From our Head of School

Welcome to Alice and Nahum Lainer School!

The Lainer School education is a joyful, life-changing endeavor that you, your child, and our community undertake together. Our preschool-through-8th-Grade program intentionally interweaves secular academics and Judaic Studies, shaping insightful and proactive young learners and citizens.

The journey begins in The Elaine & Gerald Wolpe Parenting Center, in your child’s first weeks and months. Here, you and your child enjoy expertly designed learning activities, as you share information and build lasting bonds with fellow parents. Next comes the Douglas Family Early Childhood Center, a light-filled indoor/outdoor facility where your child begins discovering the world—and herself—through hands-on explorations and communal celebrations.

In our Lower School, your child’s academic prowess, earned confidence, and personal ethics all grow together, as our integrated curriculum constantly challenges her to place her education in a larger moral context.

Finally, in our Middle School, your child prepares for high school, college, and beyond, honing and advancing her intellectual and interpersonal expertise—and extending all she’s learned through the capstone 8th-grade trip to Israel.

All the while, our vibrantly diverse Jewish community celebrates, supports, and informs your child’s every step.

That’s just a quick look at the enlivening learning that happens here every day. I hope you take a tour soon, and experience this extraordinary program for yourself!

Warmly,

Dr. Sarah Shulkind
