Every Alice and Nahum Lainer School parent is an automatic member of the Parent Association (PA). The PA provides parents with numerous opportunities to volunteer throughout the year and values the involvement and support of all our parents. At monthly PA meetings parents come together to make decisions about school events, learn from engaging speakers and socialize with each other. The PA is both a wonderful community builder and an invaluable support to the school. Some of the specific initiatives include:
- Community Building: Alice and Nahum Lainer School features numerous community building activities—such as Night At The Pier—and events throughout the year, as well as education events and support during life cycle events.
- Fundraising Activities: A variety of special events are held throughout the year, including the Book Fair, the Holiday Boutique, and the Annual Event and Auction.
- Staff Events: The PA celebrates our faculty and staff by providing a Staff Back to School Breakfast, a Staff Appreciation Month, a Staff Holiday Luncheon and other events.
- School Support Activities: Room Parents serve as liaisons between Alice and Nahum Lainer School and families, including on issues such as classroom communications, the End of Year Picnic, holiday celebrations, the Student Lunch Program and Lost and Found.
