The physical education program at Alice and Nahum Lainer School stresses the importance of sportsmanship and fair play. Although competitive effort is encouraged, respect between players, adherence to the rules and the basic joy of play and participation is emphasized. The physical education department is committed to providing an active and varied physical exercise program, which supports the physical, social and emotional growth of every student. Our students are encouraged to develop physical interests, which will help them maintain a healthy body throughout their lifetimes.
Students in 5th - 8th grade have the opportunity to participate in after school league sports at various levels of play and difficulty. Our teams compete against schools in the San Fernando Valley Private School League; and we take pride in our teams’ performance. Our goal is to make our students’ athletic experience as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. Each team holds tryouts prior to the beginning of each sports season. Players must commit to attending practices and games on a regular basis.
